Are you ready for your next Breakaway?

***NOW WITH FREE WIFI***

Less that two hours from Adelaide CBD lies the historic townships of Moonta and Moonta Bay. Forming part of the region known as the 'copper triangle', Moonta Bay is rich in South Australian economic history from the late 19th and early 20th centuries from the copper that was mined in the area.

Often referred to as 'Australia's little Cornwall', these towns are rich in Cornish ethnicity due to the large number of Cornish miners that re-located with their families to the area. During the late 1800's Moonta had the largest urban population outside of Adelaide with 12,000 people. Much of the infrastructure that supported the mining industries still stands today and is available to view in the form of museums.

Today the area is a popular tourist destination because of it's very relaxed atmosphere, family friendly beaches, and fantastic fishing opportunities.

The Kernewek Lowender is a major tourist attraction in May of each odd numbered year and brings thousands of people from all over the county to celebrate Cornish festivities.
